This segment explains production of towpregs utilizing electrostatic spray coating (powder coating) and DREF spinning. Furthermore, the succeeding section of the chapter narrates the production of unidirectional composites from film stacking methods as well as from towpregs obtained through the electrostatic spray coating process and DREF spinning process. Subsequently, thorough investigation via micro computed tomography into produced composites laminate properties in order to study the efficiency of matrix impregnation is reported. Additionally, the chapter deals with the production of woven fabrics through 2D and 3D weaving using powder coated towpregs and DREF spun hybrid yarn as well as consolidation of the produced fabrics in the compression molding process to produce 2D and 3D composite laminates. Micro-computed tomography analysis reveals peculiar failure behavior of 2D and 3D notch impacted composites as well as emphasizes the highly porous nature of DREF-based composites.
