Abstract

C12H16CI4C0N2O, monoclinic, C12/cl (no. 15), a = 7.584(2) A,b= 13.468(3) A, c = 16.360(3)A, β = 98.21(3)°,V = 1653.9A 3 , Ζ = 4, Ägt(F) = 0.039, wR^F 2 ) = 0.100, T= 293 K.Source of material 0.238 g (1.000 mmol) C0CI2 • 6H 2 0 and 0.202 g (1.000 mmol) sebacic acid were subsequently added to an aqueous methanolic solution of 0.184 g (1.000 mmol) l,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpe) in 50 ml CH3OH/H2O (1:1 v/v).The mixture was further stirred for ca.30 min and then filtered out.Violet crystals were grown in the filtrate by slow evaporation at room temperature for several days.Discossion
