The growing popularity of electromagnetic wave (EMW) communication devices that use the 1-6 GHZ range has led to the need for EMW absorbing materials such as anti-electromagnetic interference coatings, self-concealing technology and microwave darkrooms. Magnetic materials of metals have large saturation magnetization and their Snoek's limit is at a high frequency so that their complex permeability values remain high in such high frequency range. Hence, it is possible to make thin absorbers from these kinds of materials. The purpose of this study was to investigate the EM wave absorption properties of /spl alpha/-Fe/Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/, FeCo/Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/ and /spl alpha/-Fe/Fe/sub 3/B/Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/ nanocomposites, because /spl alpha/-Fe, FeCo and Fe/sub 3/B have fruitful anisotropy field values.
