This monography presents a bibliographical research about the possibilities and challenges of the practice of including children wi th specific needs in Early Chil dhood Education.Through an analysis in our current legislation it is noticed that a greater importance has been given to this subject.However, we are still overcoming a long pas t of exclusion, prejudice and standartizations n ot only in school contexts, but throughout our socie ty as a whole.It is, therefore import to understand and research the challenges faced by the teacher in dealing with this new reality of inclusion.True inclusion of the child with specific needs is not an easy task and requires study, understanding, and sensitive view of each professional involved in the process.Early Childhood Education is an important moment in wich socialization and the potential of each are valued, and therefore, is an ideal stage for the beginning of the process of inclusion of children with specific needs.The research show s that inclusion in early childhood education is a long road, involving both family and school community investments .The resources of materials and space belong t o the institutions, and it is necessary to enable the study and preparation of the various professionals who work in this process.
