Coaxial Carbon/Metal Oxide/Aligned Carbon Nanotube Arrays as High‐Performance Anodes for Lithium Ion Batteries

Abstract

Abstract Invited for this month′s cover is the group of Prof. D. Chen at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The image shows how the aggregation of carbon/metal oxide core–shell arrays, which are used as anodes for lithium ion batteries, can be avoided—through carbon coating, as a result of which carbon/metal oxide/carbon sandwich arrays are formed.
