Abstract

In this work, we propose a video-based handwritten Chinese character recognition system. By using several error correction techniques, the algorithm works effectively against various shadow and noise problems for video-based stroke-tracing of complex Chinese characters. The stroke temporal information similar to an online OCR system is accurately extracted. Recognition experiments on a large set of handwritten Chinese characters clearly demonstrates the efficacy of the system.
