Unusual Reversible Photomechanical Actuation in Polymer/Nanotube Composites

Abstract

Ein azobenzolhaltiger flüssigkristalliner Polymer-Kohlenstoffnanoröhren-Kompositstreifen wurde synthetisiert, der bei Bestrahlung mit UV-Licht schnell und reversibel verformt wird. Die ausgerichteten Nanoröhren verleihen dem Komposit außerdem eine viel größere mechanische Stärke, als man bei reinen flüssigkristallinen Polymeren findet, und eine sehr hohe elektrische Leitfähigkeit.
