- Enhancement of Thermal Conductivity of Materials Using Different Forms of Natural Graphite

Abstract

The quest for improvement of thermal conductivity in every area including aerospace structures is gaining momentum as the modern day technology is embedded with electronics which generate considerable amounts of heat energy. In some applications, the thermal energy must be absorbed or released at a very fast rate. Although phase change materials (PCMs) have suf"cient capacity for energy storage, only a portion of the PCM undergoes a phase transition and begins using sensible heat in that portion. Hence, there is a need for PCMs to have higher thermal conductivity to be able to ful"l the requirement of such applications.
