Drag Reduction in Dilute Polymer Solutions Containing Suspended Fibers

Abstract

希薄高分子溶液, 繊維懸濁液および高分子・繊維混合系における圧力損失の測定が行われた.高分子および繊維を添加することより, 完全発達域の円管内乱流における顕著な抗力減少が観察された.繊維の形状の抗力減少に及ぼす影響が考察された.さらに繊維・高分子混合系の場合には, それぞれを単独で用いた場合よりも, より大きい抗力減少効果があることが確認された.しかしながら繊維系における粘度増加が著しいために, 単位長さあたりの圧力損失を固定した場合の流量増加はアスベスト繊維5,000ppmの懸濁液の場合以外には観察されなかった.
