Abstract

With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, a large amount of data generated by IoT devices is difficult to process. As a feasible solution, mobile edge computing solves the problem of insufficient computing power by deploying edge servers near IoT devices. When the edge server receives the tasks uploaded by the IoT device, it needs to calculate these tasks in a certain order. However, there are a variety of constraint relationships between tasks. How to arrange the calculation sequence of tasks based on these relationships to reduce the time to complete all tasks has become a difficult problem. This paper comprehensively considers the three relationships between tasks, and proposes a heuristic task scheduling method based on the idea of differential evolution. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain a task sequencing scheme with lower completion time and faster convergence.
