WSN (wireless sensor network) is the decentralized kind of network that has no centralized controller is present for the data transmission. As this network is dynamic, the entry of malicious nodes is allowed in the network which can trigger sink hole attack in the network. In the sink hole attack malicious pretend itself to be base station and start receiving data packets of the network. In this research work, two-step scheme is introduced to detect the malicious nodes. In the first step, it will confirm that malicious node is existed in the network. The second phase emphasizes on detecting the malicious node from the network. NS2 is utilized to execute the introduced technique. Diverse parameters such as throughput, packet loss and delay are considered for analyzing the results. This depicted that proposed scheme give high performance as compared to existing scheme to detect the malicious nodes from the network.
