The university teaching of the biologics basics subjects of the undergraduate courses of the health field at PUC-Campinas is evaluated under the perspective of being teacher and of the teaching experience.The theme was developed by a phenomenological analysis and based on the history of the author on higher teaching and the new legislation.From 46 teachers that work in these subjects in the researched Institution, 17 answered the applied questions.Besides, 3 professors with large experience in the mentioned courses were interviewed.The main diagnosed questions in the teaching experience were related to teaching and university management.This work is not restricted to PUC-Campinas and it has a generic content, because it points out the importance of biologic basics disciplines for the health professionals formation and highlight that these teachers must do their functions with competence in their specific area of knowledge and, with responsibility and engagement with students formation.Finally, based on the new legislation, the University and the teachers, respectively, must promote and obtain the pedagogic and specific formation and the development of researches, as a way to assure the quality of professional formation.
