Abstract

To meet the concept of green communication, this paper studies the energy efficiency (EE) resource allocation in downlink massive multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) system with zero-forcing (ZF) precoding. Firstly, assuming that channel state information (CSI) is perfect, an approximate expression for the ergodic sum rate is derived. Secondly, an energy efficiency resource allocation algorithm is studied, whose purpose is to maximize system energy efficiency. When building power consumption model, the paper considers both the BS transmit power and circuit power consumption. On the basis of Dinkelbach algorithm, the paper studies a new iteration algorithm to achieve the optimal number of BS antennas and optimal transmit power. In the end, simulation results are given. The results show that the throughput of derived approximate expression is much closed to theoretical value. And the proposed algorithm can approach the performance of the exhaustive algorithm only with fewer iterations and lower computational complexity.
