Abstract

A wideband circularly polarized slot antenna is presented in this paper for 5G applications. The circular polarization radiation is produced by adding an L-shaped stub on the microstrip feedline. The axial ratio bandwidth of the antenna is mainly improved by using an inverted fork-shaped slot and cutting a corner on the L-shaped stub. The circular polarization bandwidth is further enhanced by chamfering the fork-shaped slot and the L-shaped stub. The measured impedance bandwidth (|S11|< 10 dB) is 121.45%(1.49~6.11GHz). The measured axial ratio bandwidth (AR<3 dB) is 72.2% (2.3~4.9GHz).
