Chinese-Characters Jin-Shaped Patch Antenna Array for 5G Millimeter Wave Communications

Abstract

A linear array composed of four Jin-shaped artistic patch antennas is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna array is excited by a 1-to-4 power divider and fabricated by using a single-layer substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) feeding network. Simulation results show that a desirable wide impedance bandwidth ranging from 23.92 to 27.73 GHz with a high gain of 12.5 dBi for the fifth generation (5G) millimeter wave (mm-wave) communications are achieved.
