In this paper, the RSM based optimization technique is used in the electrochemical grinding (ECG) of hybrid Al/(Al 2 O 3 +ZrO 2 )-MMC. Experiments are performed on the fabricated ECG setup with a resin bonded copper impregnated diamond grinding wheel. A comprehensive empirical model has been developed for correlating the interaction and influences of the input parameters on surface roughness (R a and R t ) to achieve optimal surface finish. The main influencing parameters, such as rotational speed, is the most significant, and current density is the significant for R a and R t . The developed empirical models are validated through confirmation test. The test results depict significant improvement of -684% on R a (µm) and -417% on R t (µm) respectively.
