Novel 2×2 travelling wave tube amplifier array for millimeter wave phase array radar

Abstract

A novel travelling wave tube (TWT) amplifier array for phased array radar (PAR) with 2×2 output ports is proposed. The double parallel connecting microstrip meander-lines (MML) are employed as the slow-wave structure (SWS) operated in Ka-band. For each output port, the simulation results reveal that the output power, saturated gain and 3-dB bandwidth can reach 566W, 27.5dB and 7GHz, respectively.
