Abstract

With the evolution of radar systems we have seen use of several waveforms such as pulsed waveform, LFM waveforms. However, OFDM waveform based radar system is a hot area of research these days, primarily because it's a wideband multicarrier modulation technique and spectrally efficient as well. While designing an efficient radar system, the focus remains largely on achieving an optimum range resolution without decreasing the pulse ON time much. This paper presents an optimized OFDM waveform to obtain target range, velocity and most importantly range resolution. Simulations for the system including target modelling have been done in Keysight System Vue software.
