Environmental-Economic Dispatch with Renewable Sources Forecasting and Energy Storage

Abstract

This paper presents the problem of multi-objective economic dispatch for an electrical system including renewable energy penetration and energy storage. The wind power and photovoltaic power forecast, as well as the power demand forecast is considered in the formulation of the one-hour ahead environment-economic dispatch. Case studies are presented, which show the effectiveness of the methodology implemented to analyze the impact of renewable energy sources and energy storage in order to minimize the generation costs and the pollution emissions produced by the conventional generation units, throughout of a period of time.
