Abstract

Although the technical advantageous features of organic thin‐film transistors (OTFTs) have been well proved, the device performance and manufacturing maturity still needs to be much improved, especially for high resolution display backplanes. This paper discusses the key technology considerations with the device structure and process integration for OTFTs. The prospects and remaining issues of OTFTs for display backplane applications are also analyzed.
