Demagnetizing field in micromagnetic simulation under periodic boundary condition

Abstract

Demagnetizing field in micromagnetic simulation is studied under periodic boundary condition. The demagnetizing field matrix is superposed to obtain magnetostatic field induced by periodic magnetization. To evaluate the influence of periodic structure, macroscopic demagnetization factors are defined. A large demagnetizing field yields a linear magnetization where the susceptibility is given by the inverse of the macroscopic demagnetizing factor.
