This paper presents the modeling and design of an electromagnetic generator (EMG) that can be used as an energy harvester for harvesting water wave energy and that can also be used as a replacement for a battery. We have developed a cost-effective fabrication method of electromagnetic generator by using a coil of copper wire and permanent magnets in our proposed prototype. The working principle of the EMG follows Faraday's Law of electromagnetic induction. Because of its unique architecture, the as-fabricated prototype can produce voltage up to 3.63 V and peak power of 0.3569 W at an optimum load resistance of 124 Ω. As the growing interest in renewable energy has been prompted, our proposed work will pave the way to enrich this field.
