This article introduces the question of reversion of power through Suárez’ positions on the origin of political power. It then addresses the problem in representative authors of Second Scholasticism. Finally, taking as an example the events after 1808 in the American kingdoms of the Castilian monarchy, the article examines the question of whether it is possible to uphold some form of reversion of power in objective reality.
