Abstract

In recent image processing, it is common to use color images. However, edge detection is often used for contour extraction. Edge detection only applicable to gray images. Contour extraction method applicable to color images is needed. In this paper, we propose a contour extraction method based on the sum of area boundaries divided by color and distance. In this method, the boundary between two areas with different colors is regarded as a contour. IoU against true contour was compared between the conventional method and the proposed method. As a result, the effectiveness of the proposed method was suggested.
