Abstract

LiCoO2 has been synthesised by one step hydrothermal method using lithium acetate, cobalt acetate, sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide as precursors. The hydrogen peroxide is used as oxidant in the reaction. The formation of LiCoO2 has been confirmed by X-ray Diffraction, UV/Vis and FTIR spectroscopy. The average crystallite size (D) and tensile strain (ε) is calculated from XRD spectra. The optical parameters have been calculated from the absorption spectra of LiCoO2. The internal bending and stretching of LiCoO2 has been studied by FTIR spectroscopy. Electrochemical performance is studied by cyclic Voltammetry and impedance analyzer.
