Abstract

Graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) are known to have superior properties for various applications. Graphene oxide (GO) was prepared from purified graphite powder and also by using modified hummer's method. The reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was characterizes by UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier Transform infra-red (FT-IR), structure and morphological by Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). The electrochemical performance of GO and RGO using cyclic voltammetry technique. The absorption peak shows at 261, 266 and 267 nm confirm the formation of GO and rGO in infrared region (UV-Visible) analysis. The cyclic voltammetry shows oxidation/reduction at various scan rates in the window rate from -4 to 4 V.
