Abstract

Cotton fabric being the king of textiles is used widely in textile wet processing than any other textile materials. Moreover, few dyes used are of non-degradable organic in nature and the removal of these dyes from the effluent becomes a tough task. In the present context of environmental issues, there is a huge demand for natural dyes. Dyeing of cotton with natural colorant, natural mordant and other natural fixing agents had been investigated. Extracted natural colorant was used in the dyeing by pre, simultaneous and post-mordanting processes. The aim of this project is to study the dyeability of the fabric using natural colorants as a means to provide Eco friendliness.
