A compact coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed F-shaped slot antenna is presented. This antenna consists of a F-shaped slot, three pairs of notches edged on the rectangular patch, circular-ring slot and half-circle slit on the ground plane. Using this antenna, impedance bandwidths (S 11 ≤ -10 dB) of 6.14%, 31.52%, 12.2%, and 100.55% are achieved at central frequencies of 2.44 GHz, 3.68 GHz, 7.13 GHz, 16.49 GHz, with simulated gain 1.2 dB, 1.92 dB, 3.17 dB, and 5.13 dB, respectively covering the WPT/WLAN/WiMAX/X-band applications. The multiband characteristics of the antenna are due to the various meandered current paths of the F-shaped slots, excited in the radiating structure and bandwidth enhanced due to the three pairs of the rectangular notch are introducing in a proper position. The proposed antenna area dimension about 33.3 × 22 × 0.8 mm 3 with a substrate dielectric constant 2.2. The radiation patterns of the proposed antenna show the stable radiation within its operating band.
