An Accurate Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), determining location of the sensor nodes is a very fundamental research issue. DV-Hop is most accepted localization scheme compared to other schemes because of its straightforwardness, vigorous nature and possibility to work in different types of networks. However, the main limitation of DV-Hop includes low accuracy. This paper proposes a simple weighted centroid localization scheme that helps in achieving higher accuracy. Proposed method is simulated and its performance is evaluated. Simulation results confirm capability of proposed solution in achieving higher accuracy (up to 10%) as compared to traditional one.
