High Gain Terahertz Microstrip Array Antenna for Future Generation Cellular Communication

Abstract

In this paper, a broadband high-gain planar antenna array at terahertz frequency for future generation indoor cellular communication system is proposed. The proposed microstrip array antennas have been designed with a hybrid feed technique for nominal frequency of 116.9 GHz and simulated using CST Microwave Studio (MWS) which is a commercial simulator based on finite integration technique (FIT). Further, to validate the simulations results of the designed and simulated antenna, we have simulated this proposed antenna using ANSYS HFSS which is also a commercial simulator based on finite element method (FEM) technique and the achieved simulations from both simulators are in good agreement that supports the proposed antenna design.
