Security and Privacy in VANET : Concepts, Solutions and Challenges

Abstract

VANET is a fast-growing field of research with a variety of applications. This improvement is also associated with a massive increase in security flaws. It is of the utmost importance to provide safety in VANETs, without compromising the security and privacy of vehicles. This paper starts with an overview of VANET, then discusses the major security attacks, privacy issues, and their solutions. We also compare the solutions according to the security and privacy requirements they satisfy. The paper ends up with a discussion on the most critical security and privacy challenges in VANET that needs to be rectified.
