Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is an idea of sensing and controlling a remote area or a system using a set of sensor nodes. A sensor node is small in size, inexpensive and independent. These nodes operate on built-in battery. Sensor node includes the sensing module, data processing module and communication module. The survival of a sensor node depends on its residual battery energy since communication among the sensor nodes and the communication between nodes and the sink spends considerable energy from the battery. To attain full coverage and fault tolerance, large amount of sensor nodes are closely deployed. As a consequence, it produces overlapping in the area coverage producing packets with like information. Transmitting all packets with similar information makes the WSN to spend more energy than the required energy to communicate the information that has been sensed in a region. With constrained battery power of the sensor hubs, energy utilization is the fundamental factor that influences the lifetime of the WSN. In this paper an energy efficient LEACH method has been applied for aggregating the information which increases the lifetime of the system. The improved LEACH convention has a better performance when compared with different information transmission strategies. Thus the energy level of the network is extended when the information are aggregated appropriately and sent to the base station.
