Design of wideband circularly polarized antenna with corner truncated patch

Abstract

A compact design of corner truncated square patch antenna with circular polarization is provided. From cross corners of the patch two triangular portions are eliminated. By doing this, two resonant modes and CP radiations are achieved. The structure has air as substrate filled between ground and patch with dielectric=1. This antenna design has operating frequency of 2.429 GHz which can be used for WiFi, Bluetooth applications. The return loss of this antenna is below -10dB. The results of S11 parameters, voltage standing wave ratio(VSWR), gain of 9.463dBi, directivity and surface current distribution have been simulated and presented.
