Natural nanobiocomposites as the name itself implies, are the composite materials having natural origin with structure on the nanoscale; biomimetic nanocomposites are synthetically derived nanocomposite materials by the processes that mimic the biology of their naturally occurring counterparts in terms of their function, biocompatibility, and biodegradability; and biologically inspired nanocomposites are the ones which are created through processes that are inspired by either a biological process or a biological material, but neither by attempting to mimic their naturally occurring counterparts, or directly copying the mechanism by virtue of which biological material is formed. This chapter takes an overview of natural nanobiocomposites, biomimetic nanocomposites, and biologically inspired synthetic nanocomposites.
