Compact Dual Band MIMO Antenna with High Isolation

Abstract

A compact dual band 2 × 1 multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) antenna with high isolation was proposed. It resonates at 2.4 and 5.25 GHz. The proposed MIMO antenna with a compact size of 0.2λ * 0.27λ (f = 2.4 GHz). The high isolation performance is obtained by loading strips with the ground plane, inserting quasi-pai shaped slots in the ground plane and employing neutral line between the two elements of the MIMO antenna. Results show that the isolation of the MIMO antenna can reach 33 dB at both of the operating frequencies.
