Ionic Conductors: Water‐Processable, Stretchable, Self‐Healable, Thermally Stable, and Transparent Ionic Conductors for Actuators and Sensors (Adv. Mater. 7/2020)

Abstract

The realization of a stretchable ionic gel conductor that is transparent, water processable, self-healable, and thermally stable, through the attachment of ionic side chains onto a polymer backbone, is described in article number 1906679 by Taiho Park, Pooi See Lee, and co-workers. A thermally stable actuator, stable up to 100 °C, and a deformable self-healable thermal sensor are achieved. Furthermore, the water-soluble ionic conductor can be processed for printability due to long pot life.
