Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify how social responsibility is being applied by the university community. The research had a mixed, field and bibliographic approach. University students mostly know about social responsibility, but it is necessary to work in order to achieve the articulation of theory and practice from classroom and take it to the field of execution where the significant contribution to society, businesses and the environment can be evidenced. Sustainable, business and environmental development depend on the responsibility of future professionals, workers, administrators and business owners based on friendly management. In conclusion, the superstructure of a sustainable system depends mostly on the quality of professionals that universities form to solve the problems of society and the environment because university students are part of the educational, social, family, business, labor and consumer conglomerate.
