Crosstalk-Aware Routing, Core, and Spectrum Assignment with Core Switching in SDM-EONs

Abstract

We propose a crosstalk-aware routing, core and spectrum assignment (RCSA) algorithm with core switching to improve spectrum efficiency in space division multiplexing elastic optical networks (SDM-EONs) with multi-core fiber (MCF). Simulation results demonstrate our proposed algorithm not only improves spectrum efficiency but also reduces average crosstalk in SDM-EONs.
