Characterization of Ultra Wide Band indoor propagation

Abstract

The main problem encountered when simulating an UWB see through radar is the choice of the spectral range and the shape of the transmitted wave to observe the scene behind the wall. In addition, choosing a propagation channel according to the intended application and suitable for this kind of transmission is very important. In this paper, we present the main parameters that characterize our transmission chain and we propose a propagation channel adapted to our needs. The comparison of the simulation results carried out allowed us to deduce the advantages of using a Gaussian monocycle pulse and to test its transmission in the chosen propagation channel.
