With the advancement of wireless technology, wireless based automation is playing an important role in human life. Home automation is a house or living environment that contains the technology to allow devices and systems to be controlled automatically. The remote control is useful to keep home comfortable for general people and to support the elderly and physically impaired people. In this paper, we propose a system that will be able to control household appliances remotely. The system provides ON/OFF voice response via the speaker according to the user command on the appliances. We divide the overall system into two modules. One is a transmitter or Bluetooth remote and another one is receiver or relay module. Bluetooth remote consists of several push buttons to control the household appliances. The remote and relay modules are configured as master-slave to communicate between the modules. To produce the voice response, the recorded voices are store in micro-SD card. With the voice response, the user can easily understand which household appliance is controlling at a particular time. We implement the system to validate its applicability. Additionally, we compare and analyze statistically the general people's impression of the proposed system over a traditional system.
