A Comprehensive Study of Performance Parameters for MANET, VANET and FANET

Abstract

For communication, it is must to have existence of nodes, capable of sending as well as receiving messages. Nodes those are communicating with each other may take services of intermediate nodes. In today's era in which communication sector is growing rapidly, then obviously, communicating nodes will also be more in count as compared to past years. Multiple types of networks were also designed after going through requirements, among which MANET is one such example. With this, size of network will increase and this increase in size of network lead to face more challenges and problems alongwith all benefits of network, making communication easy to occur and possible to exist. But there are so many things to consider while designing a network like node count, node type, message type that a node or network can support, size of message or packet size, existence of intermediate node when required, etc. Compromising any parameter among this list lead to occur failure either at node level or network level. Sometimes, to allow a node without, actually, knowing intentions could come up with major problems like various attacks on network. These attacks once activated can affect a node(s) or full network by which overall communication will be disturbed.
