Abstract

In this paper, we implement water pressure monitoring system in ZigBee wireless sensor network. The objective of the implemented system is to provide more efficient water pressure management so that sustainability of water services can be ensured. In-situ monitoring of water pressure in pipelines buried underground is performed, and the measured data is stored in the memory card of each sensor node for transmission to the tablet PC over ZigBee networks. A remote server with browser-based user interface is connected over the internet, and a large archive of data from the tablet PC is stored in the server for inspection of pipeline state. We use the sleep mode for decreasing power consumption. Memory efficiency is increased by compressing the 82% of data.
