Abstract

In this paper, we consider an energy harvesting aided full duplex decode and forward Cooperative NOMA (CNOMA) network, in which the near-user (U1) can have direct connection with base station (BS) whereas, the far-user (U2) is assisted by an energy constrained relay node. The relay (R) is operated in full duplex mode such that it can recycle its energy from the self-loop interference channel. For the proposed system, we derive the closed-form expression for the exact outage performance of both U1 and U2 that operating over independent and identically distributed Nakagami-m fading channel. The results show that energy harvesting in C-NOMA has improved the outage performance significantly. In addition, when the magnitude of self - interference is sufficiently large, the energy collected from the self - loop channel at R reduces the system outage performance rapidly compared to the energy harvested from BS.
