Abstract

The aim of this study is to verify the quality of an adaptation of the test of Lee, Hwang & Seo (2003) to measure the creative ability in solving mathematical problems presented in the I International Congress: New perspectives in the study of the giftedness and the talent. The test has been applied to eigth secondary students of high performance in mathematics and has focused on: fluency, which has been measured with the number of answers, flexibility, which has been measured with the number of different types of answers and originality, which considers the uniqueness of the answers. For this, and after studying and evaluating the students' answers, their reliability and internal consistency and their difficulty, discrimination and homogeneity indexes have been analyzed. The results have been satisfactory and encourage continued analysis of the test by expanding the participants.
