Scheduling and Resource Allocation Over LAA-WLAN Co-sited Networks

Abstract

Licensed-assisted access (LAA) mechanism faces the coexistence problem while working along with WLAN networks. Considering the fairness, while the LAA station performs as a WLAN equipment from the angle of WLAN system, it has no advantage to get more transmission chance competing with other WLAN users. In this paper, a new LAA access method is proposed, where LAA station is integrated with WLAN AP and is arranged to get the channel access together with WLAN download flows. Such scheme improves LAA channel utilization greatly. We compare the throughput of LAA system between the existing scheme and the proposed scheme, on the premise of ensuring the WLAN service. The simulation result shows that the LAA performance is significantly improved, and it is much fairer than the existing scheme.
