Robot-assisted minimally invasive mitral valve surgery

Abstract

Robot-assisted mitral valve (RAMV) surgery has been proven to be safe and effective with excellent long-term results.However, careful patient selection and a systematic approach is mandatory to achieve the best outcomes.Moreover, a unified "Robotic Heart Team" with detailed training is key to ensure the best results with reasonable operative times.Herein, our diagnostic and operative protocols for robotic mitral surgery are detailed along with our results.
