Robust Hybrid Beamforming Design for Millimeter Wave MIMO Relay Channels

Abstract

In this paper, a robust beamforming design is proposed for millimeter wave multiple-input multiple-output relay channels. The hybrid structure is adopted considering the product safety. The average received signal-to-noise ratio is adopted as the objective function. An alternating maximization algorithm based on the orthogonal matching pursuit method is developed to solve the beamformers at different terminals. Numerical results show that the proposed robust hybrid beamformers provide substantial performance gains compared with the existing non-robust designs.
