We developed and tested a research model where team-focused and individual-focused TFL influences employee creativity via psychological empowerment, and the positive impacts of team-focused and individual-focused TFL are moderated individual perspective taking and team scout activity. Using multilevel and multisource survey data collected from leaders and team members, we found that both team-focused and individual-focused TFL had a significant indirect effect on employee creativity via psychological empowerment. We also found that the effect of individual-focused TFL was significant only when individual perspective taking was high, while the effect of team-focused TFL was significant only when team scout activity was high.
