Geographical dimensions of food security in rural Bangladesh

Abstract

This chapter discusses the theoretical/conceptual frameworks of food security and the current state of food insecurity in Bangladesh in the context of sustainable development. It then describes the methodology employed in various areas in Bangladesh. A summary of mapping, including the profile of highly food insecure regions, is then presented, followed by options for using advanced multivariate statistical methods and the possibility of using FIVIMS in this kind of situation. The chapter also includes suggestions for further reading and resources.
