The metallic and nonmetallic coatings are applied to a wide variety of industries. The splashing of micro particles upon a surface is one of the most causes of coating failure and damage. The atomizing pressure of spray nozzle is an important factor on the splashing. The splashing may be occurred in different pressures such as 1.5 and 1.0 MPa. In this paper using the reliability method, we want to determine the pressure which decreases the splashing diameters. We consider the problem of estimating stress-strength reliability parameter where X, micro splat splashing in 1.0 MPa, and Y, micro splat splashing in 1.5 MPa, are independent inverted exponentiated Rayleigh random variables. The maximum likelihood and Bayesian estimators of stress-strength reliability parameter are obtained. Exact and two bootstrap confidence intervals are also proposed. The results show that the micro splat splashing diameter decreases with increasing pressure. An important implication of the present study is that reliability model may be used to properly assess of splashing causes such as effect of pressure on splashing.
